News from the Library

Book check out has begun in the Madison School Library!

Ms. Egan and Mrs. Mardula have visited all grades 1-5 hybrid classrooms to show students how to use their iPad to check out books this year. Kindergarten parents, look for information from your classroom teacher soon. Your child should be able to show you the Atriuum App that is used for book checkout and once opened, there are written directions and a video in case you or students need help.

Students will use their google username and password from their password sheet to log on. Students may “reserve” 2 books at a time, and may do so any day of the week, if they’ve returned their other books. Books will be brought directly to each classroom within a few days. Please note: books are quarantined for a week in the library, so they may still appear on your child’s account even if they’ve been returned. You can check which books are checked out by clicking the “My items” tab. Please encourage your child to use the “List” tab to find grade appropriate suggestions. The lists will continuously be updated.

Remote students will be able to check out books in the same way! Please have your child reserve their book choices by Tuesday for a pick up that Thursday. When your child reserves a book, it will automatically say “Ready for pick up” – please disregard this. Books will be ready on Thursday, so long as it was reserved by Tuesday (and will say “checked out” in the “My items” tab). Books will be placed in labeled bags in the foyer and ready for pick up Thursday during any of these times: 9-10:30, 11:30-12, 1-2:30, and 3:30-4.
