-2017-2018 PARCC Parent Reports (Grades 4 and 5)
In the Spring of 2018, students in 3rd-8th grades took the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessment. D181 recently received the individual student reports, which were sent home with students on Friday, September 21, 2018. Your child’s report provides an overall scale score in reading, writing, and mathematics. The scale score is categorized according to a performance level continuum that ranges from Level 1: Did not yet meet expectations through Level 5: Exceeded expectations. Each performance level depicts the degree to which a student is able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and practices expected at each grade level. The State of Illinois recognizes levels 4 and 5 as meeting and exceeding expectations, respectively.

We use the PARCC results within a context of a portfolio of student data that includes state, local, and classroom assessments. Our goal is to support growth and achievement by monitoring individual student performance and using the data to inform program and instructional practices. It is also important to remember that standardized test scores provide only one measure of student learning.
