Be Part of the Madison Magic Become a Room Parent!

Hi, Madison Panther Families! We’re ready to ROAR into another amazing school year filled with fun, connection, and plenty of opportunities to get involved! One of the best ways to be part of your child’s Madison experience is by becoming a Room Parent.

Room Parents play an important role in helping our classrooms feel connected and our school celebrations extra special. It’s a wonderful way to get to know your child’s teacher, connect with other Madison families, and make lasting memories along the way!

What does a Room Parent do?
Room Parent responsibilities this year will include:

Lead and attend the Halloween and Winter classroom parties. Each grade will also collaborate to create a fun activity for classroom parties!
Kindergarten & 1st Grade: Help coordinate parent volunteers for Mystery Reader sign-ups.
Communicate with classroom families by sharing important information and helping gather volunteers.
Be a resource for teachers and parents by helping create and share teacher information, including favorite things, hobbies, wish lists, and classroom tasks where parents can lend a hand.
Attend Field Day and the option to help with additional classroom activities as needed throughout the year.
Whether you love planning parties, organizing volunteers, connecting with other parents, or simply want to be more involved in your child’s school experience, we would love to have you raise your hand!

Ready to Get Involved?
You can absolutely sign up for more than one classroom — and we encourage you to do so! The more flexible you are, the greater the chance you’ll be selected. Don’t worry, though — we will never assign you to more than one classroom.

The deadline to register is Monday, August 30th.

Two Room Parents per classroom will be selected by lottery and notified via email by September 2nd.

There will be a mandatory Room Parent Kick-Off Meeting tentatively planned for Wednesday, September 9th at 10:00 AM.

Please note that your PTO membership and dues must be current in order to serve as a Room Parent.

Thank you for helping make Madison an amazing place for our students, teachers, and families. We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things we’ll do together this year!

Questions? We’re happy to help! Please email roomparents@madisonpto.org

Together, let’s make this the most PAW-some year yet! Go Panthers!

Bike Rodeo

Bike Rodeo - Invitation

The Bike Rodeo will be held on Thursday, September 3rd on the Madison blacktop (back of school)!

The Bike Rodeo is for all Madison 3rd graders, and 4th or 5th graders (who are new to Madison or did not complete the rodeo in previous years) to earn their Bike License so they are able to safely ride their bike to and from school. This event is put on with the Hinsdale Police Department and run by parent volunteers. There are three time slots offered (3:30pm, 4:00pm, and 4:30pm), please register here.

Family Instructions:
- Each student should arrive with an adult to assist in the process of getting the bike license.
- E-Bikes are not permitted.
- Each student should have the Bike Registration Form filled out, printed, and signed. Printed copies will be sent home in the student’s home folder and can also be accessed here. Please bring completed form with you to the Bike Rodeo.
- Each student must have his/her own bike and helmet to participate.
- Each student must wear his/her backpack while riding through the course. Have your child practice riding his/her bike with a backpack on.
- The event may take up to 30 minutes, so please plan accordingly.

Preparation for Students:
Prior to the Bike Rodeo, we ask that students watch these 2 videos:
- How to Ride a Bike Safely with Rules of the Road Fun for Kids
- Bicycle Safer Journey

The Bike Rodeo is such an important event that is held at the beginning of every school year, and we need parent volunteers to make it run smoothly. If you are able to help with this event, please sign up here.
